Understanding your Hospice Benefit

It may surprise you to know that the Medicare hospice benefit covers most costs associated with hospice care, including the visits from our team (doctors, nurses, nurse aides, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, complementary therapists) as well as medications for pain and symptom management, medical supplies, and bereavement support for the family. The Medicare hospice benefit is aimed at providing comfort and quality of life at the end of life, with the patient choosing where they receive care (usually at home) and the services they need within the hospice plan.
