Hospice & Palliative CareCenter Launches New Website and Mobile App

Winston-Salem, NC based Hospice & Palliative CareCenter has launched a new website and an accompanying mobile App available on iTunes. “While delivering quality, compassionate care is our number one priority, providing easy access to our services is essential. We’ve teamed up with local experts to pave the way,” shared Hospice & Palliative CareCenter President and CEO, Brian Payne.

In 1979, Hospice & Palliative CareCenter was founded by members of the community who believed that people deserved more holistic and compassionate care at end-of-life. As the first hospice in North Carolina, they have remained at the forefront, expanding services to meet the needs of patients and families in the Piedmont Triad.

The new Hospice & Palliative CareCenter website has been reorganized, redesigned and rebuilt from the ground up. Goals for the project included carrying the recently evolved branding and message of warmth and compassion across to the web, making all information on the site easy to find for visitors, and providing segmented content that effectively serves the organization’s different audiences. Additionally, the website features a powerful keyword based search tool, a mobile-friendly interface, and is highly accessible to people with disabilities.

Megan Kilpatrick Moen from Kilpatrick Design, whose firm designed and developed the new website in collaboration with Hospice stakeholders, states, “We appreciate and admire the work of Hospice and are glad to be a design and technology partner for the organization — helping Hospice reach and communicate more effectively online with those in need and those who are in a position to help.”

When Hospice was considering a mobile App, Mike Buckovich from VerticalCurve proposed a creative entry into the App world. Buckovich was hired to develop the mobile application appropriately named Hospice Connect. “VerticalCurve is excited to welcome Hospice & Palliative CareCenter to our MobileClik iPhone App family and play a role in bringing social media and cutting-edge mobile technology to Hospice staff, physicians, and supporters.”

Hospice & Palliative CareCenter has contracted with Scott Dickson from Dickson Interactive, LLC for internet marketing and website consultation since 2008. Dickson Interactive, Kilpatrick Design and VerticalCurve are all locally-owned with base operations in Winston-Salem, NC.

Director of Public Relation for Hospice, Ann Gauthreaux, said that the mobile App, Hospice Connect, has just launched and can be downloaded, free of charge, from Apple iTunes. “We have surrounded ourselves with savvy people to help bring our communications to the next level. Until we’re reaching every patient and family that could benefit from our care, we know we have much work to do. These are relationships and investments that will bring value to our organization for years to come,” Gauthreaux shared.
