It can be reassuring to know that specialized care and advanced treatments can be provided at home. This program is designed to make patients feel safe, well supported, and comfortable at home, while avoiding unnecessary trips to the Emergency Department and reducing hospital admissions.

More specifically, patients and their families can expect advanced treatments and support at home that includes:
- Care for fluid overload
- Respiratory assessments
- Medications
- Symptom & medication management
- Treatments with Nebulizers and pulmonary medications
- A Patient & Caregiver Handbook with useful information, resources, and helpful care tips related to pulmonary disease
- Access to the hospice team of caregivers 24/7
- Coordination of care with patient’s pulmonologist
- Discussions about goals of care
- Fewer trips to the ED and hospital admissions
In collaboration with the American Lung Association (ALA) and in coordination with patient’s pulmonologists, our specially trained team creates a personalized care plan utilizing best practices that improve quality of life.

Patients enrolled in this Advanced Lung Care program receive all the care and services every hospice patient receives from our trusted professionals and volunteers. This includes medical, emotional, and spiritual support, along with a team of complementary therapists who provide an added layer of support and comfort.
Our team is available 24/7, offering support and peace of mind. In the event that acute care needs become too difficult to manage at home, or a need for respite care arises, patients and families have access to our KBR Hospice Home for short-term around-the-clock care.
